Tilda Swinton Returns to the Edinburgh Stage in Man To Man
Tilda Swinton is returning to the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh on Thursday, October 29, with a production she last staged there almost 40 years ago. According to The National, the Scottish actor will perform the 2026 revival of Manfred Karge’s Man To Man, a monodrama that first appeared in 1982. In 1987, at age 26, Swinton performed the same play at the Traverse to strong critical reviews.
The new run reunites Swinton with the original director, Stephen Unwin, and designer Bunny Christie. It follows a stint at the Royal Court in London and is set to transfer to Berlin and New York afterward. The National also notes that tickets for the nine-day Edinburgh run sold out quickly, with returns possibly available.

Long Before the Headlines, There Was Suspiria
Long before this week’s headlines, there was Swinton’s remarkable turn in Suspiria. The hosts of The Witch Movie Project revisit that performance in the episode, which compares the 1977 Dario Argento original with Luca Guadagnino’s 2018 reimagining.
Courtney Pearl and Just Blane dig into how Swinton plays not one but three roles in the 2018 film, a transformation Just Blane calls one of the great tricks of the movie. Courtney brings her folklore background to the witch figures on screen, separating what comes from real tradition from what the filmmakers invented for the story. Just Blane adds production trivia about the look and sound of both films, including the difference between the Goblins’ score and Radiohead’s contribution.
Whether you know Swinton from her stage work or her film career, this conversation shows why her performances keep people talking. Give the episode a listen and see how two very different versions of the same story reveal something about the actor at its center.
