Taylor Swift Holds 100 Weeks at No. 1 as Beatles Return to Top 10

Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl spent a second straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and according to Variety, that gives her 100 total weeks at No. 1 across all of her albums combined. Countryinsider reports the same milestone and notes that the album’s extended edition, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, counts toward the chart calculation, which gives the original album a 14th week at the top.

Variety also points out that Swift has no solo rivals on that count. Elvis Presley has 67 weeks at No. 1, and Garth Brooks, the nearest living artist, has 52. The Beatles still hold the all-time record with 132 collective weeks, but Variety suggests Swift could overtake them with just two or three more original album releases. Yahoo! carries the same figures, and adds that the Beatles returned to the top 10 this week, with Rubber Soul reentering at No. 4 after a reissue campaign.

Why the Long Run Matters to RTW

Long before this week’s chart headlines, there was the career of a performer who kept the crowd in mind at every stage. The hosts of The Hammerin’ Hank Show have been talking about that kind of staying power for a while.

In the episode, Ryan Hoppe and Hammerin’ Hank Ochs trade Taylor Swift trivia alongside radio war stories and baseball jokes, with the conversation moving between pop memory and the rest of the show’s chaos. In the episode, Hank talks about the pop culture obsessions that shaped his listening, including Taylor Swift, and how the radio world he came up in rewarded anyone who could hold a room. Hank’s fandom comes through as easy and specific, not performed, which is exactly why the segment works.

If you want the show that treats a chart milestone as a conversation starter rather than a press release, listen to the full run of episodes on The Hammerin’ Hank Show. Hank and Ryan bring the nostalgia, the trivia and the honest takes, and that is where the real fun is.
