Jalen Brunson’s Championship Hat Is Still in the Bag
Knicks star Jalen Brunson says his NBA championship hat is still sealed up, and he is not in a hurry to open it. According to Fox News, Brunson told listeners on his podcast “Roommates Show,” which he co-hosts with teammate Josh Hart, that the hat is unwashed and he is afraid of what he will find. He described the smell as a mix of Champagne, sweat, cigars, food, beer and tequila.
The team won its first NBA title in decades in June, and Brunson’s hat has been sitting untouched since the celebrations ended. New York Daily News separately reported on Brunson’s standing around the league, noting that Knicks head coach Mike Brown praised him as a leader who “walks the talk.” Brown made those comments ahead of the Knicks’ preseason finale against the Toronto Raptors.

Leadership Earns Respect, Even Off the Court
Long before this week’s headlines, there was the work that earns a player respect in the first place. On the episode of The Hammerin’ Hank Show, hosts Ryan Hoppe and Hammerin’ Hank Ochs spent time on the NBA playoffs and the people who define the game. Hank’s take on Brunson came from a place of real connection, not just stats. He has followed the Knicks guard long enough to see how he carries himself on and off the floor.
The episode also ran a playoff segment that leaned into the same theme: the players who lead by example and the teammates who follow them. Hank and Ryan talked through the kind of focus and consistency that separates good players from players fans remember.
Those conversations are what The Hammerin’ Hank Show does best. Ryan keeps the pace tight, Hank brings the stories and the honesty, and the result is a show that treats sports the way a longtime fan does. If you want the full discussion, head over to the show page and listen to the episodes.
