Send Help: Rachel McAdams Survival Thriller on Hulu

Send Help: What Happens When Your Boss Crashes on an Island With You

A plane goes down. Two people wash ashore. One of them has actually trained for this. The other spent the flight mocking her survivor audition tape.

Send Help is a genre-blending thriller that starts as a survival story and becomes something far more complicated. Rachel McAdams plays Linda, the overqualified assistant whose corporate worth is measured by her shoes, her lunch drawer, and whether she fits the mold. Dylan O'Brien is Bradley Preston, the nepo baby boss who can't recognize competence even when it's keeping him alive.

The movie asks a question that cuts deeper than the island premise: What is a person's actual worth? Linda carries the company on her back, writes the presentations, does the work, but gets none of the credit or the promotion. On the island, the power dynamic inverts. Suddenly her skills matter. Suddenly she has authority. And suddenly the question becomes: how far will she go to keep it?

It's a sharp commentary on patriarchal systems versus community-based survival. It's also darkly funny, viscerally tense, and doesn't waste a single frame. Sam Raimi's direction keeps the genre from tipping too far in any direction. The result punches above its weight.

If you've been sleeping on this one, tonight's the night.
